No bank login. No signup. We never store your statement.
Where did the money actually go?
Upload the bank or credit card statement you already have. We read it and show you what you spent it on — in plain English.
Why we don't ask you to connect your bank. Every other budgeting app needs your banking credentials through a service like Plaid — which is why they only work in a handful of countries. A PDF is a PDF. If your bank can give you a statement, we can read it.
How it works
Three steps, about thirty seconds
Download your statement
From your bank's app or website, as a PDF. It's usually filed under Statements or Documents. This is the file your bank already gives you.
Drop it in the box
It's read in memory and never written to our disks. We don't ask who you are, and there's nothing to sign up for.
See where it went
Every transaction sorted into plain categories, your biggest merchants, and anything charging you on repeat.
What you get back
A page you can actually read
Not a dashboard to maintain and not a budget to set. One page that answers the question you actually asked.
Spending by category
Groceries, eating out, transport, bills — named the way a person would name them, not the way an accountant would.
Who you actually pay
Your merchants ranked by total, with the messy reference codes stripped out of the names.
Anything on repeat
Subscriptions and recurring charges detected from the dates, including the yearly ones that are easiest to forget.
An honest confidence check
We add the transactions up and compare them to the opening and closing balances on your statement. If it doesn't match, we say so instead of showing you a confident wrong number.
Bank coverage
Built for the banks other apps skip
Apps that need a bank connection only work where their data provider has coverage — mostly the US, UK and Canada. Reading the PDF has no such limit.
Not listed? The generic reader handles most layouts anyway — try it and see. More on bank coverage
Questions
The things people ask first
Do you store my bank statement?
No. The file is read in memory while your request is handled and is gone the moment the page renders — never written to disk, never backed up. That holds on every plan, free or paid. If you later switch on saved history, it keeps the rows we extracted (dates, amounts, merchant names) and still never the original file.
Do I need to connect my bank account?
No, and you never will. We never ask for your banking username, password, or one-time code. If a site asks you for those in order to show you your own spending, think carefully before handing them over.
My bank isn't a big American one. Will this work?
That's specifically what this is for. Because we read the statement instead of connecting to your bank, the country doesn't matter. Layouts we haven't tuned for yet fall back to a generic reader, which handles most of them.
What if my statement is a scan or a photo?
Right now we can only read PDFs that contain real text — the kind your bank generates. A scanned or photographed page has no text layer, so we'll tell you that rather than guess. Downloading the PDF from your bank instead of scanning a paper copy solves it.
Is this a budgeting app?
No. There's no budget to set, nothing to maintain, and no reason to come back daily. You upload a statement, you get an answer, you close the tab.
How accurate is it?
We check our own work: the transactions we found get added up and compared against the opening and closing balances printed on your statement. When those agree, the totals are right. When they don't, we say so rather than hiding it. Categories are a best guess from the merchant name and will occasionally be wrong.
