How to download your BBVA statement as a PDF

BBVA Spain account statements (extractos) download as PDFs from the BBVA app or bbva.es. Then upload it here to see where the money went, checked against the balances printed on the statement.

Reading one statement on screen is free and needs no account. The PDF is never stored.

Getting the PDF from BBVA

  1. Log in to the BBVA app or your private area on bbva.es.
  2. Select the account.
  3. Open the account's options menu.
  4. Go to 'Extractos' or 'Correspondencia' and download the PDF.

What we read from the statement

A bank statement PDF normally shows the account and the statement period, an opening and a closing balance, and one row per transaction with a date, a description and an amount, often with a running balance. From that we build the breakdown: where the money went by category, what repeats, and totals in and out. The report is labelled BBVA when that name is printed near the top of the statement.

Known limitations

Password-protected PDFs
We cannot open a PDF that asks for a password: the upload fails with "Could not read this PDF". Open it with the password, save or print an unlocked copy as PDF, and upload that.
Scanned statements
A scan or photo saved as PDF has no text layer, so we read it with OCR on our own server, up to the first 10 pages. OCR can misread a digit; the report says when it was used, so check its totals. A PDF downloaded from online banking is always more reliable.
Month names
Month names are read in English only. A statement that writes months in Spanish (ene, abr, ago, dic) loses the rows dated in those months. When the statement prints its opening and closing balances, the report warns that the rows it found do not add up.
Size
Up to 25 MB per file and the first 60 pages.
Dates without a year, whole-number amounts
A row whose date is only day and month in numbers (05/04) is not read, and neither is a row whose amount has no decimal part (150000 rather than 150000.00). If most of your rows look like that, the upload will say no transactions were found.
No layout made for this bank
There is no reader built specially for BBVA. One general reader handles every bank, and the report checks what it found against the opening and closing balances printed on the statement, and says so when they do not add up.

Questions about BBVA statements

Do you connect to my BBVA account?

No. You download the statement from BBVA yourself and upload the PDF. We never ask for your online banking login and cannot see your account.

Is my BBVA statement stored?

No. The PDF is read in memory and never written to disk. If you buy an export, the rows for the download are kept in your private session so the button works, and are deleted when the session expires, after at most 14 days.

Can I convert a BBVA statement to Excel or CSV?

Yes. Reading one statement on screen is free. Downloading it as a spreadsheet (a CSV file that Excel opens) needs a statement pack or a plan.

Is a BBVA statement PDF password-protected?

BBVA's own help pages that we checked do not say. If your PDF does ask for a password, open it with the password, save an unlocked copy, and upload that: we cannot open a locked PDF.

Which currency will the report use?

A statement that prints EUR outside the transaction rows is read as euros. Amounts written with € are read as euros. If the statement prints neither, the report says the currency is not stated rather than guessing.

How far back can I get BBVA statements?

Correspondencia virtual keeps documents from the last 5 years. (From BBVA's help pages, checked 13 September 2026.)
