Apps that ask you to connect your bank can only support banks their data provider has built a connection for. That's why almost all of them stop at the US, UK, Canada and a bit of Europe. We read the PDF your bank already gives you, so there's no connection to build and no country restriction. A statement from a rural co-operative bank works the same way a Chase statement does.

The reading itself is the same for every bank: one reader that finds dated rows with amounts and checks them against the balances printed on the statement. A bank that is not listed here is read exactly the same way.

Recognition can misread a digit, so the report says when it was used and you should check the totals against the page. A PDF downloaded from your bank is always more reliable.
